Growing up Gorgeous exists to establish a community of diverse women in the South Jersey area who support, exhort and encourage one another along the journey of motherhood. We build genuine relationships with other mothers through local chapters and online. Our local chapters meet for monthly Growing up Gorgeous events, while offering child care and opportunities for self-care. Our members also receive exclusive tools and resources to empower them. Through our time together, we strive to sharpen one another. Ultimately, our growth as women will be a reflection of the beauty of Christ.
Growing up Gorgeous is for all women. Our members come from a diverse set of circumstances. We believe that all women are created in the image of God, and therefore equally qualified to reflect his compassionate, nurturing, life-giving nature. Whether you are a woman of color, a single mom, a creative mompreneur, a working mom, a seasoned mom or a woman engaged in family planning; there is room for you at the table. We have created a space where there is value in our collective voices.
"For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." Ephesians 2:10
I believe motherhood is the most difficult job in the world. It's not just diaper changes and teenage angst thats tough, but also the feelings of worry, vulnerability, loneliness and guilt that come along with it.
As a momma, I wanted a place where I could be amongst sisters who understood my challenges, who were balancing dreams & mommyhood, and who were trusting Jesus in the messiness of it all. I searched lots of different communities, but could only find cookie cutter moms groups. So I created something different—a place where we could go beyond just laughing together, do more than craft, and come from more than one background. (And it doesn't hurt to throw in childcare, goodie bags, and food either!)
If you think of us, please whisper a prayer that we will remain committed to helping mommas through this journey. To believing that God makes them gorgeous even in their mess. To pushing one another to see ourselves as a reflection of God and to stand in awe of Him.
