South Jersey Churches Hosting Vacation Bible School
Every summer, churches all over the country hold Vacation Bible School (VBS) for local children. The event usually lasts for a few days, and provides children with an awesome, enriching, and spiritual experience. Most of the programs are free and some are in the evening. With fun themes, crafts, music and a focus on growth, you don't want to miss enrolling your children.
I can recall my own fond memories of VBS as a child. Tons of local volunteers came to support the cause and I loved every summer spent learning and growing. My experience at these short "camps" helped to provide me with a spiritual foundation.
For 2017, I plan to send my own three year old to VBS for the first time. I know she will enjoy the break from her day to day routine and mama could use a few hours off also! In addition to other South Jersey events, her summer will be a blast because of the work of these local churches.
Here are a list of local South Jersey churches who are hosting VBS during the summer of 2017. Be sure to click on the church name to register your children to attend.
1. Immanuel Baptist Church- Maple Shade, NJ

2. Sovereign Grace Church - Marlton, NJ
Sovereign Grace Church is hosting a Summer Blast! Come learn Godly character from the Bible through storytelling, drama, music and games! Camp is for children ages 5 to 10.
Camp registration fee: $20.00 for the first child, $15.00 for the second child, $10.00 for the third child with a $45.00 maximum per family. *For scholarships, please contact Ashley Stott

3. Glassboro Methodist - Glassboro, NJ
Glassboro's program begins at 6pm with an amazing time of singing songs and learning about their bible buddies for the day! Then they learn more about bible stories, make crafts, eat some delicious snacks and have fun during recreation time!

4. Southwood Baptist - West Deptford, NJ
Join Southwood for a fun-filled adventure as they gear up for a fun time at the Maker Fun Factory together. Children ages 4 through Grade 5 are able to attend. Children are grouped by crews with pre-school and kindergarten together, and grades 1-5 together.

5. Kingsway Church, Cherry Hill, NJ
Mark your calendars now for a 3-night event filled with songs, games, skits, some Bible Stories, and more! For all children entering grades K-6 this fall.

6. Ashland Church, Voorhees, NJ
Head to Ashland Church for music, bible lessons, snacks, playtime and FUN! Suggested Donation $20 (for supplies)

7. Haddonfield United Methodist Church - Haddonfield, NJ
This summer, HUMC is hosting a new daytime Vacation Bible School (9am-12pm), Maker Fun Factory! Children from 3 yrs old to 5th grade will participate in Bible-learning activities, and learn to look for evidence of God all around them through “God Sightings.” Each day concludes with the Funshop Finale to get everyone involved in living what they’ve learned. 8. Covenant Presbyterian Church - Cherry Hill, NJ
Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a long held tradition at Covenant that draws a crowd of children from the community each year. This action packed week is led by a dedicated team who love working with children and present programs where the children enjoy Bible stories, games, making crafts, snacks, music, and much more! VBS is held during the month of August and is for children 4 years old through 5th grade.
9. Medford United Methodist Church - Medford, NJ
Imagine a world where curious kids become hands-on inventors who discover they're lovingly crafted by God. Spark creativity with interactive decoration and experiences. Maker Fun Factory Vacation Bible School transforms the church into a place buzzing with excitement!
Ages: Preschoolers (4 years and older and potty trained) through entering Grade 5 in September.

10. First United Methodist Church - Collingswood, NJ
As kids focus their telescopes on the marvels painted in the sky by the Creator, they will discover the wonder among all wonders – that the God who created everything there is – the knowable and the unknowable, the visible and invisible – wants a personal relationship with them! For children ages 3 years (and potty trained) through 6th grade.
Invite your kids into the clubhouse and show them the God who is over the moon in love with them!

Meet the Author:
Christina Acosta-Martinez is a wife and momma first. She is married to Miguel, and they serve on the founding team of Epiphany Fellowship Church in Camden, NJ.
She founded Growing Up Gorgeous, LLC to provide a diverse community of mom's with a one-of-a-kind support system. Currently meeting in South Jersey, this group of women spend time laughing, crying, learning, and sharing their dreams.
These unique experiences are known for providing authentic relationships, beneficial resources, and self-care experiences. Most importantly, the women are "growing up" together to look more like Jesus Christ.
Christina and Miguel have been married for five years. She cherishes her time at home with her baby girls - Summer Rose and Naomi Lynn.
